The hall appears on TV

Filmed in 2022, it was a real bonus that the serial, ‘The Change’ went out on Channel 4 in the hall’s 100th year, because it featured in episode 3. It took the role of a town hall with a rather acrimonious public meeting of the local council taking place.

Having taken 4 days to record, it was quite amazing that our building only held the viewers’ gaze for about 10 minutes. Even so. It seemed a fitting tribute to a place that has done so much for the local community over such a long period of time. Of course, in that time, no doubt it has hosted the occasional meeting where very different opinions were aired.
